It doesn't know when the next meal is coming. So, if the meals stop coming, the body goes into conservation mode to make sure it can hold on to its reserves as long as possible. When more food comes along, it will pack that extra food in for additional fat just in case it has another period without food. You do have to eat less to lose fat, but a failure to eat won't help you lose fat fast. You have to eat enough food to keep your body functioning at peak levels, yet not eat more than your body needs to function. If you really want to lose fat fast, the fastest way is to eat just a few less calories each day than your body burns. You can't lose fat any faster than that, though you can lose other body weight such as water and muscle much more quickly. Basically, skipping meals sends your body the wrong signal and makes it very difficult to lose fat fast. Instead, you need to make your body behave as if it is getting a nutritious meal at regular meals times. Your body will respond by functioning at normal levels, thus continuing to burn calories at normal levels.
You Can't Lose Fat Fast Without Exercise
So how do you continue eating regular meals and make sure at the same time that you are burning more calories than you're eating? Exercise is the answer. Weight training exercises are particularly beneficial for burning off calories. Not only do you burn more calories, but the more muscle you build the more calories your body will require each day. In other words, you can lose fat fast by making your body use more calories each day. This may go contrary to what you were thinking about how to lose fat fast. In fact, weight training will add weight to your body. But, that weight is dense, lean muscle mass. It will make you look skinnier, while at the same time helping you lose fat fast. Of course, you should get together with your doctor or a nutritionist about how to eat right and with your doctor and a qualified fitness instructor for a weight training program appropriate for you.
